Depicting a classical female profile in profile, likely inspired by ancient Roman or Greek iconography, the carving captures an elegant, timeless silhouette, complete with finely detailed hair and headdress. Pieces like this were often acquired during Grand Tour travels, making them rich in both history and cultural influence.
 
Carved from volcanic lava stone, most commonly associated with Neapolitan craftsmanship, the surface has a soft, matte finish that enhances the depth and character of the design.
