Dating to the late Victorian period, circa 1890, this beautiful antique ring is crafted in warm 15ct yellow gold and set with a wonderfully romantic combination of rubies and seed pearls.

At the centre sit two vibrant pink-red rubies, positioned vertically within individual square settings. Their rich colour contrasts beautifully against the warmth of the antique gold, while delicate seed pearls arranged to either side add a softer, more traditional Victorian detail.

The craftsmanship throughout is particularly lovely. Intricate scrolling goldwork, raised bead details and beautifully shaped panels decorate the shoulders, creating an ornate yet wonderfully balanced design. There is an incredible amount of detail worked into such a delicate piece, and the decorative front gives the ring a lovely presence on the hand.

Weighing 2.03g, the ring feels refined and elegant while retaining all the character you would hope to find in a genuine piece of Victorian jewellery. The use of 15ct gold is also a lovely indication of its age. This historic British gold standard is no longer used in modern jewellery and gives the piece its particularly warm, rich gold tone.

Inside the band are the original G.Bros sponsor's/maker's mark, alongside the traditional '15' and '625' marks, denoting 15ct gold, together with the Birmingham assay mark. These surviving hallmarks are a wonderful part of the ring's history and provenance.
