Dating to 1948, this fabulous vintage ring is crafted in 9ct yellow gold and set with a beautifully vibrant round amethyst, all wrapped up in the most incredible sculptural gold setting.

The amethyst measures approximately 7mm in diameter, with its rich purple tones and beautifully faceted surface creating gorgeous flashes of colour as it catches the light. Held securely within a classic four-claw setting, the gemstone sits proudly at the centre of the design, and she certainly doesn't disappear on the hand. 

But for us, it's the goldwork that really makes this one. The broad, substantial shoulders sweep towards the amethyst in a wonderfully bold, almost architectural formation, with curved recessed detailing running through the centre. The result is a striking 1940s design that feels strong and sculptural while still allowing that beautiful purple stone to take centre stage.

Weighing an impressive 4.1g, there's a really lovely amount of gold to this ring. It feels substantial on the finger and has fantastic presence from every angle, exactly the kind of vintage piece that looks even better once it's on. 

Fully hallmarked for 9ct gold, Birmingham 1948, this beauty has also recently undergone a professional clean and polish, bringing back the gorgeous warm lustre of the yellow gold and allowing the amethyst to shine beautifully.
