A beautiful antique heart locket, richly decorated with intricate floral and foliate engraving and full of the character you only find in genuine old pieces.

Measuring approximately 38mm x 25mm and weighing 3.64g, the antique locket has a wonderfully romantic heart shape, finished with an ornate scrolling suspension that gives it a particularly decorative feel.

The floral engraving sweeps beautifully across the surface, surrounding a blank scroll cartouche to the front. This has never been engraved, leaving the option for its next custodian to personalise it with initials, a date or a tiny sentiment if they wish, or simply leave it beautifully blank.

The locket opens to reveal space inside for photographs or tiny keepsakes, making it a lovely piece to personalise and pass down through generations.

Stamped ‘9CT FRONT & BACK’, the outer front and back panels are 9ct gold, with the internal structure made from another metal, a traditional method of locket construction from the period.

As you would expect from an antique piece, there are signs of age and wear, including surface scratches and patina. These have been left untouched and form part of its history and charm.
